Come join us for the fall colors which are predicted to be “near perfect” this year.
Autumn is our favorite time of the year with the crisp mornings and nature’s show of leaves turning various shades of red, orange, and yellow. The added bonus of waking up in your private cabin with a breathtaking view of Knife Island and Lake Superior is an unbeatable bonus.
Because of our northerly location, we enjoy being one of the first places in Minnesota where fall colors emerge. Here, the fiery scarlets and oranges of maples meet the soft golds and yellows of aspen and birch, studded with the deep red understory of flaming sumac.
The season is short but brilliant with two waves of color. The first occurs inland, away from the lake, usually between mid-September and early October and is a good time to hit the hiking trails or drive the back roads. The second burst of color follows Lake Superior’s shoreline, usually peaking during the first two weeks of October. You’ll dwell amidst the fall colors and have easy access to Minnesota’s own ”long trail” the Superior Hiking Trail.
Gooseberry, Cascade, and Temperance falls are some of those easy access sights. Don’t think you have to be a hiker to experience this region! For those that do hike and backpack there are worlds beyond the shore inviting you to explore. And then you have almost endless waters North of Lake Superior to canoe.
And if you have a treasured member of the family that’s not allowed at most vacation destinations, remember that five of our cabins are pet-friendly, so you don’t have to worry about the expense of boarding or pet sitting.
Reserve your cabin now, before they’re all booked for what promises to be one of the best Autumn shows nature has put on in years.
